Worboys, George Rawlins

George was born in the 13 August 1877 at Ashwell, Hertfordshire the third son of James and Elizabeth (nee Rawlins) Worboys.  He was a pupil at the Merchant Taylors School in Ashwell.

George enlisted in November 1916.  Nothing is known of his military history.

He survived the War.

He is commemorated on the St Mary’s Church Ashwell Roll of Honour.

At the time of his marriage he was a railway porter and the 1911 census shows him a bricklayer.

George married Eunice Emma Winter at St Thomas’s Church, Islington, London on 28 September 1896.  They had three children, Minnie Elizabeth born 1897, Harold Winter born 1900 and Stanley George born 1904.

The 1939 census shows George and Eunice living at Woodford, Essex with George a general bricklayer.

George died at Woodford, Essex on 11 June 1950.
