The Bulls Head (Western End )
... On 3rd September 1936 Winnie Stamford of Royston opened her wool shop in the western end of the Bulls Head. Winnie had her wool shop in Ashwell for 34 years, and at some time over this period she moved from the Bulls Head to No 31 High Street. She was assisted in the shop by her two sisters. Zoar Strict Baptist Chapel
The Particular ( Strict ) Baptists were meeting in a cottage in Mill Street in 1851, known as the Mill Street meeting of the Particular Baptists, which had been registered licensed for worship in 1847.
