The Bulls Head (Western End )

On 3rd September 1936 Winnie Stamford of Royston opened her wool shop in the western end of the Bulls Head. Winnie had her wool shop in Ashwell for 34 years, and at some time over this period she moved from the Bulls Head to No 31 High Street. She was assisted in the shop by her two sisters. Winnie retired in 1970.

This part of the Bulls Head was demolished in about 1958 and two houses were built in its place.
