Ashwell is in the Hundred of Odsey

Ashwell is in the Hundred of Odsey.  The tomb of some great chief lies buried under the mound at Pancake Hill. 

Ickneild Way is the primeval way of the races which have come and gone in this island of ours in the misty past, of which no history remains written, only the graves of the warriors of old, the un-named heroes of battles who had left no records save the mounds under which they lie buried.
