Albert Amtman

Name:         Albert Amtman

Regiment:    Connaught Rangers

History:       Private 4714 1st Battalion Connaught Rangers, 3rd ( Lahore ) Division.  He served under the name of Hampton.

He was Killed in Action aged 21, on 26/4/1915 during the 2nd Battle of Ypres.

There is no known grave, but he is Commemorated on  panel 42 of Menin Gate, Ypres.

Albert Amtman was born in East Ham and enlisted in Lambeth.   He had lived in Kennington Lane London.and was the son of Charles Amtman, 125 Keslake Rise, London.

 

Research Note:

A family or residential connection with the Ashwell district has yet  to be established.
