Wolverley Fordham enlisted with the Bedfordshire Yeomanry Territorial Force on 5th November 1902 at the age of 43. He was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain to Major.
He did not serve on the Western Front.
He is commemorated on the St Mary’s Church Ashwell Roll of Honour.

Wolverley was the eldest son of Edward King Fordham and Annie Maria (nee Snow) Fordham, born at Ashwell, Hertfordshire in the 3rd quarter 1859. He was director of the E.K & H Fordham Brewery in Ashwell.
He married Phyllis Gribble at Henlow, Bedfordshire in the 2nd quarter 1903. They had no children.
Wolverley died at Ashwell on 24th February 1921 and is buried in the St Mary’s Church cemetery, Ashwell.
