The museum collection is housed in an iconic Tudor timber-framed building with a modern architect designed extension. It is Grade II* listed. It stands in Swan Street facing north down Mill Street.

We are open every Sunday and Bank Holiday from 2.30 to 5.00 pm. During the Renovation Project, which has started (June 2019) and we hope will finish by December 2019, entrance is free.  The old building at the front of the Museum is currently inaccessible but many of the items that used to be on display in the old building have been moved into the modern extension. If you wish to see a particular item or collection please contact us in advance of your visit, so we can advise you of it's location.

Volunteer groups work in the museum on most Monday evenings from 7.00 to 9.00pm and Tuesday afternoons, 2.30 to 4.30pm.(Not during school holidays) These are good times to drop in but if you are coming a long way please ring or email beforehand to make sure someone is there. We will try to accommodate any opening requests.

We do not currently charge for entry. Donations towards the Renovation Project are very much welcomed. We are a Registered Charity No. 271473 and the entrance fee we normally charge is our only regular source of income.

Groups of any size or age can be accommodated at a time to suit you by prior arrangement. Group visits can include a guided walk around the village. The cost for a combined walk and museum visit is £5.00 per person.
