The Butchers at The Two Brewers.

Two Brewers side entrance in Alms Lane

During the period of c1870-1890, Charles and Mary Summerfield were the publicans of the Two Brewers. Not only did they serve ales, but they carried out butchery at the rear of the premises.

If you look at the side of the building in Alms Lane you will see the dark, boarded section with inset bars. This is where the butchery took place.
