Situated in Loves Lane on the outskirts of Ashwell is Ashwell End Farmhouse. Records from the Doomsday book suggest this house and farm may have been around before the medieval period. Today the farm is still active and there is a campsite in operation on the premises.

I was born here 4th June 1922. My father – Augustus Miller Christy – worked for E.K.& H Fordham at the Brewery in Mill Street.
