Victor was the seventh son of Charles and Annie (nee Stamford) Strickland, born at Ashwell in the 2nd quarter 1890. Victor was a pupil at the Merchant Taylors School in Ashwell. The 1911 census shows him as a carpenter.
Victor married Ruth Letitia Gentle at Ashwell in the 1st quarter 1916. They had two children, Vera Lily born on 11th February 1920 at Ashwell and Joan Mary born on 9th January 1922 also at Ashwell.
Victor died at the Lister Hospital, Stevenage on 22nd March 1955.
Victor’s brothers Bertie Charles, Eugene, Percy, and William all served in the War and survived, but Oben died from wounds in the Battle of the German Retreat to the Hindenburg Line.
