George enlisted in November 1916.  Nothing is known of his military history.

He survived the War and died at Woodford, Essex on 11th June 1950.

He is commemorated on the St Mary’s Church Ashwell Roll of Honour.

George was born in the 3rd quarter 1877 at Ashwell, Hertfordshire the third son of James and Eunice Emma (nee Winter) Worboys.  He was a pupil at the Merchant Taylors School in Ashwell.  At the time of his marriage he was a railway porter and the 1911 census shows him a bricklayer.

George married Eunice Emma Winter at St Thomas’s Church, Islington, London on 28th September 1896.  They had three children, Minnie Elizabeth born 1897, Harold Winter born 1900 and Stanley George born 1904.

George died at Woodford, Essex on 11th June 1950.
