Since this article has been written several other copies have come to light. They all have many items in common but individual pupils have added some of their own stories.
Miss Anne Ward Hislop was a teacher at Ashwell Primary School. She began in 1917 and retired in 1941, though I believe she was brought back to teach during the war to help out. She was born in Guisborough on the 29th October 1884 and died in June 1970 in Hitchin.
