Ashwell Village Museum Heritage Fund

The Restored Museum November 2019

Serious deterioration has been found in some of the structural timbers in the old part of the Museum.  The cost of a thorough restoration of this iconic building will be in the region of £200,000 to £250,000.

The Museum Trustees have set up a Museum Heritage Fund to ensure that this work can be carried out to the highest standard and that Ashwell people and others will continue to benefit in the future from enhanced access to the community resources and educational work for which the Museum is already well known. The work being undertaken will make the building sound for at least another 100 years + providing a wonderful and lasting legacy for future generations to enjoy.

Community Fundraising Initiative

It is hoped that the Museum will be able to attract funding from various grant bodies, but these bring with them a requirement for a significant amount of fundraising from the local community.  A number of events and activities are being implemented in order to support this very worthwhile cause.
